STEBA

STEBA is a Joint PhD Course within the UNIgreen Alliance. The title of PhD in Agri-food Science, Technology and Biotechnology is awarded jointly by the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (administrative headquarter), the University of Almeria (Spain), the Agricultural University of Plovdiv (Bulgaria), the Agricultural University of Iceland (Iceland) and the Polytechnic University of Coimbra (Portugal).
 

The PhD Program aims to train highly qualified professionals in the fields of production, processing, quality, and safety of raw materials and food products. Graduates will be able to carry out research, training, and technology transfer activities within universities, public institutions, or private companies, and may eventually hold managerial positions in public and private organizations. The Program is designed to provide the multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary scientific skills necessary to independently conduct research with a methodological preparation of international standing.


PhD graduates in Agri-food Science, Technology and Biotechnology will be able to:

  • independently develop research in their specific areas of specialization
  • communicate the results of their research activities through the preparation of scientific publications in international journals and oral presentations
  • plan and present research projects at both national and international levels
  • transfer the results of their research to public and private companies in the agri-food sector
  • integrate scientific knowledge and skills in the agri-food field with the soft skills necessary to foster creativity in research and to collaborate effectively with experts from other disciplines.
